Happy endings do occur outside the movies, but none happier than the one for the Palace Theatre, built in 1940. Oil baroness Mrs. R.L Slaughter (affectionately known as "Aunt Susie") bought and renovated the building for the Grapevine Opry. Now owned by the Grapevine Heritage Foundation, the building has been restored and is the home home of a wide variety of performing arts events, including the Grapevine Opry.
